Frequently asked questions~

Do you play outside?

    Yes, we play for outdoor weddings and events. Due to the nature of fine instruments, we need to be out of direct sun (under a tent or awning is best!) and protected or moved to an alternate indoor location in the event of rain. There is an additional fee of $100 for an outdoor wedding which includes the rental of a stable 5x7 platform for the harp and covers the additional cost of string breakage due to changes in temperature and humidity.

Do you take requests for music that is not on your repertoire list?

    Yes! Over the years we have made arrangements for everything from Bruno Mars to Chinese folk melodies. Depending on the availability of the sheet music there is an additional fee.

Do you travel for weddings?

    We have performed for weddings all over the Northwest--including Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, Sandpoint, Yakima, Bellingham, Seattle, Tacoma and Moscow. Although the logistics for finding a harp for an out-of-state wedding can be challenging, we are always happy to speak with you about your destination wedding plans.

  

Do your rates include tax/gratuity?

    Our rates include tax. If you feel the musicians met and exceeded your expectations we would be grateful for a review.

Do you play with any other instrument combinations?

    Although we prefer to perform as a harp and violin duo (as a happily married couple), we also contract other professionals in the area to form string quartets or trios.

What is the general timeline for a wedding?

        Sample 5 p.m. ceremony

        3:45-4:00 p.m.  Arrive at the venue, set up, and consult with the wedding planner about the ceremony.

        4:30  Double check sound and tune instruments.

        4:40  Prelude starts

        5:00  Begin the processionals for officiant and groom, family, ring bearers/flower girls, wedding party,

                 and the bride (often different music for each).

        5:20  Unity candle or hymns

        5:40  Recessional music

        5:45  Postlude (5-10 minutes depending when guests have exited)

Rates~

Our wedding package starts at $450 which includes prelude, processionals, any music during the ceremony (hymns, unity candle lighting), and a postlude as guests exit. Please see below for a sample timeline.

Background music for a special event starts at $400.
